MILK SALT AGAR BASE | Dehydrated Culture Media

Milk Salt Agar serves as a specialized medium designed for the selective isolation and growth of Staphylococci bacteria. This unique medium takes advantage of the observation made by Koch, who noted that Staphylococci were the only microorganisms capable of thriving on agar-based media containing a high sodium chloride concentration of 7.5%. Based upon this principle, Chapman adapted Koch's medium to enhance its selectivity by incorporating a high salt content.
